Where resources allow, Laurel House and Laurel Place can provide training and community education to increase awareness and understanding about sexual violence to other professionals and within the broader community.

The service's Let’s Get Savvy program is a community education program about sexual violence specifically developed for High School students. Delivery of the program is supported by a professional, visually appealing and youth-friendly presentation incorporating PowerPoint, audio-visual resources and an accompanying booklet.
Content of the Let’s Get Savvy Program includes information on topics such as:
• What is sexual assault
• What is consent
• Sexting and use of technology
• Sexual assault and drugs and alcohol
• How to support someone who has experienced sexual assault
The service also utilises events such as Sexual Violence Awareness Month and Child Protection Week to increase community awareness of sexual violence/abuse.
If you would like to discuss options for training or community education within your service or school, please do not hesitate to contact us.
